How to clean your jewelry @home…

What do you need:

* cup of hot water

* gentle dishwaser soap

* new toothbrush

* kitchen towel and a polishing cloth

What you need:

You need a cup of hot water (not boiling water - just hot water like you would do the dishes), with some soft dishwasher soap to let the jewelry soak for a couple af minutes. The dishwasher soap will dissolve the grease etc from the jewelry and stones.

How to clean:

Put some dishwasher soap in a new toothbrush, rub it on the jewelry on outside and inside, all around.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Look for holes from stones

If your jewelry have some gemstones, check for holes at the back or inside a ring, they can clog up with grease. Rub gently with the toothbrush in the holes. The grease comes from sweat, handcream, dryed soap,… And rinse with clean water.

! Be very gentle with rubbing with claw settings ! A claw setting can wear out over years, stones can come loose.

Wipe dry with kitchen towel

Wipe your jewelry dry with a kitchen towel. Dryed water can leave staines too.

Why a kitchen towel and not a bathroom towel?? Wel for a very simple reasen, a kitchen towel doesn’t have long fibers and will tangel less on to your jewelry. It would be sad to put effort in the cleaning work and have ring with threads on it in stead.

polishing up

Wipe your jewelry with the jellow polishing cloth (that you get with your order when your buy at my shop) to give it a polished look again. If you have a matt, satin or frosted finish, your can skip this part.

The deliverd polishing cloth has a polishing compound on it for silver and gold jewelry. Is not supposte to be washed, it wil loose it’s surface. The polish cloth will get dirty by rubbing on your jewelry, that is normal, you can keep using it until it falls apart.
